08.05.2026
On May 8, 2026, Res. Asst. Dr. Ömer Gönül made a presentation titled "Infrastructure Planning of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations on Highways and Renewable Energy Integration."
The event included a presentation on contributing to the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure on intercity highways. The presentation addressed the strategic location of charging stations, their planning in accordance with smart energy management systems, and their integration with renewable energy resources. The concept study evaluated numerous technical aspects, from station site selection to energy infrastructure, to ensure electric vehicle drivers can experience uninterrupted charging during intercity journeys. Furthermore, by using sustainable energy sources such as solar and wind power in conjunction with storage systems, it is aimed to reduce the environmental impact of charging needs. The proposed approach is expected to increase energy efficiency and contribute to strengthening the national and international electric vehicle charging ecosystem.
