Turkish-German University aims to become a science and technology center of choice for academics and students from Turkey, Germany, and other countries, with its international standard education and research facilities.
One of the first academic units established at our university, the Faculty of Science, in addition to its research in the fields of basic sciences and technology, aims to become a hub for interdisciplinary and original research projects developed in collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Social Sciences. It aims to address the needs and problems of the local-global sector, focusing on humans and the environment, and providing innovative solutions.
Recognizing that producing science in the fields of basic sciences and technology according to universal standards and competitive measures is possible with young minds, our Faculty has the vision of becoming a dynamic and innovative research and technology development institution. It encourages original scientific publications, conducts collaborative work with prestigious universities and research and development centers abroad, and provides young researchers with qualified opportunities. It aims to achieve these goals by including successful Turkish and foreign scientists in its staff, establishing a strong laboratory infrastructure in collaboration with other faculties, and instilling an inquisitive perspective in its distinguished students.
Within our Faculty, there are three departments: Materials Science and Technology, Molecular Biotechnology and Energy Science and Technology. Through its unique programs offered in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral categories in these departments, our Faculty will provide students with opportunities to learn, apply, and conduct research on modern technologies. The language of instruction in all departments is German.
In addition to Turkish faculty members, German faculty members also participate, teach, and participate in academic activities in each department. Successful students have the opportunity to study for a period of time at the partner German universities of the program. The universities and research centers we have agreements with are Potsdam University, Darmstadt Technical University, and the Berlin Helmholtz Research Center.
The universities and research centers we have agreements with support our Faculty in various aspects such as preparing department content, creating education plans, sending foreign faculty members, organizing summer schools, student exchange programs, dual diploma opportunities, industry collaborations, joint projects, and language courses.
